Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. In 2016, she was a part of ESPN. She is the daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her get her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Following this it was announced that she was hired by the CBS station located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009 she relocated away from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. The stories she covered were about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. The duties of anchoring on sports and weather was often requested. Her birth date was November 22nd, 1985 in Mexico City. She's more mature than her younger sister. She has an older sister. Her parents divorced soon after and, in 1995, she married an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, younger Collins was able to take a job alongside her elder sister. At the time of her senior year in high school but knowing exactly what she would like to accomplish in her future, Antonietta went to the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. It was a beautiful campus as well as offered the level of education she sought. She finished school and attended the university with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for a number of years, was an acquaintance. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her with his enthusiasm for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
